KB-2 Mic Preamp Started out as a DIY for my own Recording Studio. Friends of mine who were also recording enthusiests liked it and asked me to make them one also.
Over the years I continued to revise and improve the design. I wanted something flexible so the design accomodates swapable transformers and API foot print modules. Each channel has its own voltage regulation and is adjustable to suite the module you choose to have. My original design used the Forsell 993 module with the Lundahl 1538XL input transformer and currently use the Sonic Imagery 995 module. I have sold 5 of them and they had a variety of transformer / op amp combinations. There are many to choose from. In this design I added 2 channels that have DI inputs using the Pikatron UP3096M DI input transformer.
There is option for output transformer along with the standard Servo Output. No caps in output signal path.
Overall gain of the KB-2 is 52 db.
